Model United Nations - 2016

The CUKCC MUN is aimed at addressing the most pressing issue faced by the world these days- the question of clean and safe drinking water to support a world population exploding at exponential rates. Devising a proper strategy to deal with this issue at the earliest can help us prevent further damage to the water resources and help alleviate the condition of those deprived of this resource. The CUKCC MUN sees its success in bringing to light the hitherto less highlighted areas in relation to water security. By delegating the issue among 60 of the world’s nations, the CUKCC MUN seeks to trod unexplored tracks and probably arrive at novel conclusions that could provide valuable insights for policy framers, encompassing the developmental requirements of all areas in terms of water and its equitable distribution and utilisation.  hence the topic Human Right to Water has been adopted as the agenda for the CUKCC-MUN 2016. The 3-day MUN seeks to address the following issues:

  • Global distribution of water and its resources

  • The present levels of utilisation by nations  and Commodification of Water

  • Problems faced by the unequal distribution of water (Hegemonic Role played Some MNCs and Developed Nations)

  • An analysis of the exercise of the Human right to Water.

Status of Women, People in Underdeveloped nations with respect to Water
